In his later cartoon images he's always wearing googles or some form of eye protection. I think he could have given Cal Worthington a real run for the advertising dollar. Still love him (the bear)! These magazines were still truly "general interest", and were read by damn near everybody. No ads for a screw manufacturer in Scrapbooking Monthly, I'll bet.

Thanks Craigf!PhilAreGo@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05719815455502184849noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4438559177675541367.post-19162895613721130082011-06-16T08:12:35.273-05:002011-06-16T08:12:35.273-05:00I love the days when not only car companies, but C...I love the days when not only car companies, but CAR COMPONENT COMPANIES could take out a full-page ad in Life or Look or Peek or Poontang magazine.

For the record, with the Harrison AC in my '68 Buick -- with ozone-depleting R12 Freon flowing comfortably through its veins -- I can store pork at a safe temperature.Craig F.http://yankeedriver.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4438559177675541367.post-24850615808548953192011-06-15T11:36:41.833-05:002011-06-15T11:36:41.833-05:00Don't be afraid of that bear.
